No. We don't need any higher taxes. Thank you very much. And the mayor is doing just fine. Corbin isn't doing so bad either. If you want to see a little city with problems, just take a good, hard look at Hazard, my spouse's hometown, slightly over to the east. The mayor there is also a good man, but he and a handful of other hard-working, well-meaning politicians in that city can't just wave a magic wand and immediately make everything better there, especially when so many business owners there are so worried about competition coming to town, and a large number of the population there is severely addicted to hard drugs and don't want to live any other way. Do you realize that it takes more than five or six people to really improve a city. It takes an array of people who are all on the same page to start bringing in more jobs and different industries, fixing road and pipe issues, and expanding educational, transit, and recreational options to result in accomplishing major positive changes in a city. It takes a village to keep a village's amenities running effectively and efficiently. Everybody in Corbin and every other city in Southern Kentucky should be pitching in to do their part to help their city, instead of just sitting back on their lazy, high rear ends, complaining, and expecting politicians to solve all of their problems overnight.

Maybe a college student might have visited Africa was a carrier of a disease and gave his disease to another student. A few students are actually from Africa helped over here by Missionary workers or maybe the athletic department and those college students go back visiting family in Africa eventually one that goes to Africa on visits might bring back some type of virus. Do you even know the risk your sanitation and recycling people mean to your community. No you dont. Maybe you need to jump in the truck and ride with some of those guys and find out or spend the day with the recycling department and see what they do, that is if your not afraid to get dirty. $500 dollars for cost of living wont get them far when they have taxes to pay and bills to pay. Why dont you take some of the raise that you gave police and fire department and see if they can make it on 500. 00 or take your salary and make it on 500. 00. Cause you cant. I drove a couple hobo from Luv's truck stop in Corbin to Jellico back into Kentucky and the hobo gave me a what was a Percocet and it was a Percocet 30 -fentanyl.. I think he wanted to kill me and steal my car and I didn't take I acted like I did I put in my shirt pocket and drank on my bottle of water like took it and he said we needed park behind an apartment complex RIGHT BESIDE A DUMPSTER to pick up so more dope it was dark no one around but them but I didn't take the fentanyl

CDC investigating potential infectious disease at Barbourville ARH
Officials with the state and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention are investigating a possible infectious disease at Barbourville ARH Hospital Tuesday.
In a release, Appalachian Regional Healthcare officials did not specify what disease they suspect it might be.
"We cannot comment on specific patient cases due to patient confidentiality, " said ARH Spokesperson Melissa Cornett.
Currently, the hospital is open and accepting patients as normal.
"Barbourville ARH is working closely with the state health department and the CDC to follow all proper recommendations and current guidelines to ensure our patients receive the best of care, and others within our hospital remain safe, " said Cornett.
Union College President Dr. Marcia Hawkins released a statement Tuesday afternoon regarding the patient in question. Dr. Hawkins confirmed that one of the Union College students is currently in isolation with ARH and that there is no immediate risk to the public.
Dr. Hawkins added that the student did not contact the Ebola virus or travel out of the country, contrary to rumors on social media. The student's illness is reportedly not airborne. Health officials are still testing to identify the potential virus.
"We will continue to be in touch with the CDC and the state and local health departments, " said Dr. Hawkins. "Of primary concern at this time is the fact that one of our students has been hospitalized. Please keep the student in your prayers."
Anyone experiencing signs or symptoms of a viral illness, including fever, nausea, body aches or lethargy is encouraged to seek health care right away. DPH will contact hospital workers and those with close contact with the patient in question to inform them of symptoms they need to look out for.

If were not illegal China would mass produce drugs and children born on drugs and sell them globally to other countries quicker and faster then American cities that have legalized it somehow could ever produce and ship them. Well Sir, I was told by kids on that bus route some vape users put meth and salts into those vapes and them and people let kids from parents that are on drugs and those parents did bad things to their children so those bad people let kids smoke them vapes in front of church people. There was a teacher, she was trained in child psychology, she brainwashed the abused children she taught. THe teacher was a dope addict in her college years suppssdly that just a phase and she supposedly no longer enjoyed threesomes with younger girls like her phase she had only in college that some had on video. The Teacher in college took child psychology to better sell drugs to high school kids. As a college student the future Teacher had only planned on become a drug counselor, she never really believed she could be a real teacher, she didn't even know how she graduated or even how she became the valedictorian, she stayed high on drugs. Anyhow the drug addict became a Teacher and years later her friends were still prostituting young girls. One of their victims was a young child only maybe 10 years old at first.
After the lil girl's abused was found out by authorities doing undercover work at bar, the lil quickly started getting government benefits, HUD, welfare, foodstamps, and the kid finally got social security benifits after Her dad was killed in prison.
THE LIL GIRL AND THE LIL GIRL'S MOM WERE THOUGHT DOING WAY BETTER.
The lil girl was most likely a mental case but never recieved any psychiatric treatment. She could barely read was later in high school but a reading problem didnt stop her form going to college. She even wrote a book about her molestations, Her book doesn't mention any teachers.
BUT WE ALL KNOW
The Lil girl never learnt how to read because her dad, he use to sit her on his lap to read to her and teach her how to read but he would always start molesting her EVERY NIGHT HE AND HIS FRIENDS TRIED TO TEACH HER HOW TO READ.
Lil girl seemed like she got better when her dad went to jail and then later died in prison. We hoped all his sick pervert friends would end up in jail. The teacher used her child psychology to influence the abused lil girl to tell the other students she was getting SSI, for being depressed and cutting on herself.
The teacher didn't like her students thinking if bad people go to prison and die in prison, their victims might get better. So the lil girl did as the teacher said and started saying she cuts on herself so she gets SSI other students of that teachers class rokn might started saying they also cut on themselves.
The whole time people in town were still wanting the lil girl's father's criminal associates that he use to go out drinking with at the molesters club, that's what the Christian people call them places, every city has that 1 certain bar or a club that all the perverts and pedophiles feel more at home at, that's called the molesters club.
Her dads favorite drinking place was the place the school drug counselor loved to also drink at the molesters club.
anyhow, nosey detectives kept trying to arrest the other perverts from the molesters club, for some reason the detectives believed there were more parents from the molesters club that needed to die in prison the lil girl met her dads friends, his friends were parents that had kids her age group but she didn't know their kids or go to school with them because the lived in different school districts.
So as the detectives kept getting closer to finding more victims, several classmates of the lil girl cut their wrists and bled to death. The lil girl was thought to have also cut her wrist but she survived because luckily a peeping tom checking in on the lil girl rushed into the bath room to save her.
The lil girl survived and told the detectives she didn't cut her wrist that she was given a ride home by her reading Tudor from the library and the Tudor gave her a drink and she fell asleep after drinking the Tudors drink.

You are trying to tell me something I already know. For a long time workers from AIDS clinics and health department workers that already had aids or supported the needle exchange program they had been financially helped with donation and grants to start foster homes in Ohio. They want the AIDS kids kept with AIDS medications, birth control, and condoms. The problem is if the foster child gets pregnant while in the foster homes. I think abortion is must and if the child was molested or raped law enforcement needs to protect the child. CORBIN-- A Corbin man was arrested early Thursday morning in connection to robberies at three different Corbin tobacco stores.
Officers responded to two separate alarms just minutes apart going off at both Kwik Stop on 18th Street and A to Z Mart located at 1304 S. Main Street at around 12:50 a. m. last night.
Upon arrival, officers observed that someone had apparently attempted to gain entry into both Kwik Stop and A to Z Mart as the glass on both doors were broken and a concrete block sitting just inside the doors, according to the police report.
Officers reviewed security footage at each location showing a tall, thin built subject wearing jeans, a green jacket and a black and gray toboggan. The subject was also wearing black and white shoes with a distinct design and walked with a noticeable limp in his left leg.
Around 1:40 a. m., after leaving the scene at A to Z Mart, an officer observed the front door and drive-thru window were busted out at Corbin Tobacco 2 located at 1100 South Main Street, just down the road from A to Z Mart.
According to the police report, officers cleared the location and believed that several items had been taken after finding a carton of Marlboro Red cigarettes on the floor along with two MyBlu Juul devices.
At 2:19 a. m., the owner of A to Z Mart called the police department after seeing a subject matching the description of the person on video in the tobacco store riding a bicycle down US25-W near Wallens Towing.
Patrol Officer Shannon Jones was nearby and stopped Jerrad Gilbert, 19, in the parking lot.
Upon running his ID, the subject was confirmed to have an active bench warrant in Laurel County and was placed under arrest and searched. After searching, officers found that Gilbert had four packs of new, unopened Marlboro Red cigarettes in his pockets, according to the report.
After reviewing video from Corbin Tobacco 2, officers found that the subject matched the description of the person in the other two security videos.
Items that appeared to have been stolen, as well as the clothing worn in the videos, were all found some time later at the subject's mother's residence.
The total value of the products stolen was approximately $90 and the estimated repair cost to the buildings are over $1, 000.
Gilbert was charged with burglary in the third degree, first degree criminal mischief and criminal mischief second degree.
He was scheduled to be arraigned in Whitley County Court today at noon.

My neighbor was there that horrible day. She needs help. She has been abusing her German shepherd. We cant prove it yet, but my kids snuck in to her house yesterday and hid cameras in her bathroom that's where we think the abuse has been happening. We think she's been doing horrible nasty abusive things to that poor dog with coat hangers, it makes me so sad. I hope later she gets the help she needs, she was fine and until that horrible day at Walmart, her treatment is going to be so expensive.

The Whitley County Sheriff's Department is reporting that: On September 8th, Sgt. Jonas Saunders arrested Aaron J. Asher on Barton Mill Cutoff Road after a traffic stop.
Officer Saunders seized a large amount of money during this stop.
Aaron J. Asher age 36 of Keavy, Ky. was charged with:
Trafficking in a controlled substance 1st offense (Heroin)
Trafficking in a controlled substance 1st degree (Methamphetamine)
Possession of a controlled substance
Reckless driving
Drug paraphernalia
This individual was lodged in the Whitley County Detention Center.

Dedication ceremony held for new Corbin splash pad
CORBIN — Members of the Corbin City Council, Corbin Tourism Board, and former Corbin Mayor Willard McBurney met on Main Street in downtown Corbin Friday evening to dedicate the city’s new splash pad to Geeta Patel.
“This has been a long time coming, for sure,” said current Corbin Mayor Suzie Razmus. “I think about the generations of children that are going to play on this space that was owned by the Patel family and just the joy that they’re going to have here in memory of beautiful Geeta will last forever.”
Razmus thanked Corbin City Manager Marlon Sams, Corbin Tourism Director Maggy Kriebel, and the Corbin Tourism Board for their work in bringing a splash pad to downtown Corbin.
“First and foremost, the Patel family, Ish and his family, their donation to the city of Corbin has allowed this beautiful splash pad to be here,” she said thanking all those who helped. “The city commission, they were the ones who were willing to put this in the budget and make this dream of tourism and the Patel family a reality,” she later added.
Kriebel then spoke and thanked Water Odyssey for designing the splash pad, Brandstetter Carroll for the architectural design, and JAVE Construction for the all of the construction work that took place.
“It takes great vision, courage, and dedication to grow the city and do things that increase the quality of life for the citizens and guests to our community,” she said. “It took a lot of different players in the ballgame to make this happen, to make this a reality.”
“I didn’t personally know Geeta, but in my heart, I know that she was a wonderful woman who loved her community, who loved children, and wanted to see great things for the city,” noted Kriebel.
Kriebel said the splash pad would be opened once it passes state inspection.
“We’re hoping probably by the middle of next week,” Kriebel explained on Friday. “Staff are already hired, everybody’s ready to rock and roll.”

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) –
An undercover operation results in drug-trafficking charges against two Louisville men accused of selling meth from a hotel room in London. An AR-15 rifle, handgun, meth and heroin, cash and even Narcan spray to reverse overdoses, was seized, according to Laurel County Sheriff John Root.
The sheriff said 34-year-old Michael A. Osborne and 21-year-old Alexander Christian Finley were charged. Both were charged with conspiracy and possession of a weapon by a convicted felon. Osborne also is charged on a Kentucky parole board parole violation for absconding parole on a drug conviction in Jefferson County, according to the department.
Deputies and detectives involved in the arrests and investigation included: Detective Richard Dalrymple, Detective James Sizemore, Sgt. John Inman, Deputy Justin Taylor, Deputy James Fox, Deputy Landry Collett. London City Police also assisted the Sheriff’s office at the scene.

Laurel County Sheriff John Root says detectives and deputies were dispatched to possible drug activity in the back parking lot of a motel off West Cumberland Gap Parkway. Police found a car there with a man, later identified as 51-year-old Roger Dale Sevier of Corbin, exiting the vehicle. Deputies say when Sevier saw them he began walking quickly to the hotel door. Deputies approached him and during questioning Sevier gave them a false name. During the investigation his real name was determined and that he had a parole violation warrant. During his arrest police found suspected methamphetamine, clonazepam tablets, glass smoking pipes, digital scales, drug ledgers and marijuana. Sevier was charged with fleeing or evading police, giving officers false identifying information, trafficking in a controlled substance, possession and several others. He was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.

No one is perfect. I hope and pray ya'll and all those close I pray that to ya'll are really on the path to recovery. I am also hoping the Kentucky Health departments take advantage and get it passed, so they can start delivering needles with their needle exchange program to ya'll, while there is the coronavirus out there and all, they might get it passed. If they can start delivering needles it could help keep those on the path to recovery from feeling ashamed and giving up so they don't return to a life of sin. Im so glad many ex-users recovering with dental problems recently have been able to find jobs with the mask being required at so many workplaces. If the health department is approved to deliver needles some that have relocated from other areas can keep their past and personal life a secret. I also want and pray those kids in foster homes that had biological parents that used serious drugs and got thier own kids to start using serious drugs, I hope and pray those kids keep getting the prescriptions they need to recover. I dont want to make the parents that had their children taken away that are attending N. A meeting supposedly on the path to recovering feel ashamed either. I just feel like we have to address that issue because soem parents attending those meeting have told those in the group of recovering addicts they got their kid using certian dope an told them how old they were what they got them to do for their dope plus they told how they hope to get them back. I personally didn't find much help with those groups. To me they might as well let Doctors that lost their license for overprescribing pills be in charge of those meetings but God help y'all in those groups but for me if I ain't court ordered or locked up I don't want to have to be close to them people and their stories in them groups ever again
